Non-ablative skin rejuvenation uses a laser to improve the appearance of wrinkles, brown spots and minor scars by creating heat in the skin without injuring the surface of the skin. They are less invasive than ablative treatments and work by heating up the targeted tissue, without actually destroying it.

Laser skin resurfacing is a facial laser treatment used to create a more youthful, healthy appearance. Resurfacing lasers can help to treat facial blotches, scarring, wrinkles, and fine lines, making them less noticeable.
Laser skin resurfacing works by removing layers of the skin and allowing for new skin cells to grow and heal. This allows for the reduction of these facial blemishes.
During the procedure, the laser device is passed over the skin, delivering controlled energy that removes damaged outer layers and stimulates collagen production in the deeper layers of the skin. You may feel a warm, prickling or burning sensation as the laser works, but most patients find the treatment very tolerable.
The length of the treatment depends on the size of the area being treated, but most sessions typically take between 30–45 minutes. Afterward, your skin may appear red, swollen or feel warm—similar to a mild sunburn—which is a normal part of the skin’s natural renewal process.
After your treatment, gently cleanse the treated area and apply Aquaphor as directed to help protect and support the healing skin. Some swelling is normal immediately following the procedure. You may also experience itching or a stinging sensation for 3-5 days. As your skin continues to renew, it’s common to notice dryness and light peeling for 7-10 days. These effects are temporary and part of the natural healing process.
Overall, recovery from laser skin resurfacing takes between 10 days to 3 weeks – we recommend staying away from harsh cosmetics for a few months after the procedure and keeping it moisturized.
